Who?

I’m Casandra, an artist, writer and above all your contemporary.
I work in a variety of mediums. From writing poetry, short stories, and more; to painting in acrylics and watercolors, drawings and creating art objects.
At the heart of it all is a commitment to authenticity.

My approach

Creating art is an act of rebellion. To do something so ‘useless’ yet for it to have the highest intrinsic value is… well, something close to the Truth. It’s what life does, it’s what life is. In this day and age where monetary gain and rationality have almost squeezed the natural out of us, to just be is courageous.

Freedom

When I paint, draw, write or craft, it’s as if everything falls into place. And I feel a lightness that reminds me of the only true “law” in this universe: the law of harmony. I’m allowed to exist -fully- and to play with that existence. My art is not only about expressing my own self; it’s about connecting with others on a deep, often unspoken, level. I hope to inspire self-reflection in those who encounter my work and to help them recognize the shared thread of humanity that unites us.

Through my pieces, I ask questions about reality, about consciousness, about society, and ultimately about myself. I explore the paradox of feeling both connected and alone in this world. I seek to live through, and at the same time, create an experience. Because that’s the only reason we are here. I hope my art can serve as a reminder that we are always on the verge of something greater. Always able to rise above our immediate selves, to find hope, and to have faith in the possibility of something… more.

Artistic statement

I grew up between Belgium and Romania, moving between two ways of seeing, two languages of feeling. This duality has shaped the way I create: where thought and action, inner reflection and external expression, playfully converge. My practice blends contemporary figurative painting, conceptual objects, and literary writing, creating a dialogue between presence, meaning, and play.

I am drawn to moments of transformation, where the ordinary becomes divine and the divine becomes ordinary. And the fragile balance, the spaces, between those two. In this sense, my work treats creation as a ritual: an exploration, a performance, a playful encounter with material and idea. Each piece exists within this interplay, balancing openness and intention, reflection and improvisation. Color, form, space, and time all carry weight as vehicles for resonance and discovery.

The themes I explore are both personal and archetypal: such as the cycles of emergence and remembrance, which go hand in hand with the tension ànd harmony between opposites. I embrace the fluidity between freedom and significance, play and meaning, inviting the viewer to inhabit a space where curiosity, imagination, and introspection coexist. I aim to create work that resonates beyond the immediate visual, leaving room for reflection, wonder, and the unspoken possibilities that unfold between viewer and artwork.

Ultimately, my practice seeks to honor both life and creation as intertwined entities, trying to accept them in their broadest senses. I want to create spaces where the boundaries between inner and outer experience are fluid. Paradoxically, I do so by capturing their liminal shapes.

Each work is an invitation to coexist, with the work, with the artist, with the here and now.
